INDEFINITE STRIKE - NO CHANGE IN THE DECISION,

WE HAVE CONSCIOUSLY DECIDED TO CONTINUE……….

Dear Comrades,

Entering 5^th DAY of INDEFINITE STRIKE, after a careful review of

the situation we have taken a conscious decision to CONTINUE OUR

PROGRAM WITHOUT ANY CHANGE.

   WHY SUCH A RESPONSE FROM GDS, WHY SUCH AGITATIVE MOOD OF GDS?

 Read Carefully:

·       This time the GDS union alone has given call. 

·       GDS can alone know and understand the sufferings of GDS.

·       Again and again they have been cheated by the department.

·       Their pay (TRCA) is reduced, due to the defect in the system.

·       Supreme Court decision is not honored till today for regularization of GDS.

·       Justice Talwar Committee’s positive recommendations are not implemented.

·       Negative recommendations of Nataraja murthi Committee are still being implemented; this is against the interest of GDS. 

·       There is no lack of unity, the unity of GDS is intact, AIPEDEU is the only organization recognized by the department.

·       Bonus ceiling case of GDS for Rs.3500/- duly recommended by Communication Minister reached Finance Ministry late, that is when the Bonus was already declared!  The department slept over our Notice of Indefinite Strike.

·        Indefinite Strike from the largest union of GDS,AIPEDEU was TAKEN LIGHTLY BY THE DEPARTMENT!

·       Compassionate appointments of deserving cases are being rejected and the wards are in streets.  Officers of the department have no sympathy to the families where no family pension and no social security are ensured.

·       New recruitment Rules of Postmen and MTS are introduced without the consent of the AIPEDEU, the union representing 2.7 lakh GDS.  The promotional avenue of 50% approximately would be snatched if the unfilled vacancies from MTS is not given to GDS.  This is gross injustice to those aspiring for promotion to Postmen.  Is it not GDS to Postmen cadre is DIRECT RECRUITMENT?  Why blocking their promotion prospects?  Youngsters are joining as GDS with the only hope of promotion!

·       Illegal and most unscientific methods of evolving work norms and consequent reduction of TRCA:  No employee in any government sector will undergo reduction in his pay pocket.  This is inhuman, unconstitutional and bad in law.  Hence protection order was issued long back, in 1996 itself.  Still irregular reduction is forced and injustice done to poor GDS!

·       Protection order is issued for BPM, not for others.  It is assured to issue others too, still awaited.  Old cases need review and restoration of TRCA drawn earlier without reduction!

·       Conveyance amount of Rs.50/- per month!  How rational it is?  V.P.Singh’s report on this and cash handling points not implemented, why?

·       Our co-worker contingent staff are eagerly waiting for revision of their pay since 2006.  Their DA is also held up, why?

COMRADES, TO GET ANSWER, TO GET PROPER TREATMENT, TO GET JUSTICE, WE HAVE TO STRUGGLE, STRUGGLE AND STRUGGLE.

Therefore, INDEFINITE STRIKE was proposed by 2000 delegates who have attended All India GDS convention.  Let us wipe out the tears of these suffering GDS, let us fight for this right cause without fear.  FOR IT IS OUR DUTY TO DO SO. 

If we do not fight now, tomorrow the future generation would curse us.  Please think ten times and CONSCIOUSLY CONTINUE THE STRIKE TILL SUCCESS.
