All India Postal Extra Departmental Employees Union held its 7th All India Conference in "Gurukunj Ashram" Mozri in Amravati District of Maharashtra Circle, from 6th to 8th April, 2012.
The Open Session was held on 6th April, 2012 with Com D. N. Giri in Chair. The Open Session was inaugurated by Com. G.L. Dhar, Secretary AITUC and was addressed by Com. Parasar Secretary, NFPE, Com. P. Suresh, General Secretary, R-IV, Com. B.G. Tamhankar, Ex. President, A.I.P.E.U. Group 'C', Union, Com. Mungesh Parab, Working President/ Circle Secretary P3, Com. SC. Jain Circle Secretary MP P-3, Com. Balakrishna Chalke, Circle Secretary, P-4, Maharashtra, Com. D.P. Diwakar, Senior N.F.P.E leader, Com. N. Balasubramanyam, advisor GDS Union and ex- Circle Secretary P-3 Tamil Nadu, Com. M.L. Parimal, Reception Committee and ex- Circle President P-3 Maharashtra, Com. Bargai Annna ex- Circle President P-3, Shri, Raju bhai Patel, Chairman Reception Committee and several other leaders and Com. S.S. Mahadevaiah, General Secretary, A.I.P.E.D.E.U. A galaxy of leaders and high dignitaries graced the conference, who were the chief guests of the open session, expressed their sentiments in very clear terms recognizing the services of the GDS in maintaining and running the communication services to the over whelming majority of the people who live in the rural areas. They assured all help and cooperation in finding a solution to the problems of the GDS employees. The Open Session was conducted by Com. Jeswal, Reception Committee.
Mozri. Rashtrasaint Tukdoji's Gramgeeta is considered as a 'mother' of ideal village. It is a book on self dependent village. It shows a way to develop villages on their own by creating development programmes by villagers themselves. So Tukdoji's thought is a genuine source to village development. It was a Village and the atmosphere was congenial for GDS employees to discuss their problems. The Reception Committee had made magnificent arrangements for smooth conduct of the functions.
