Retirement Felicitation
Retirement Felicitation
Com. Janardan Majumdar, Ex. Secretary General, NFPE, retires today, 31.01.2026, on superannuation, concluding a distinguished journey of service and struggle.
He joined the Department of Posts in October 1990 and soon became actively involved in trade union work. Over the years, he served the organisation with dedication in various capacities: Divisional Secretary, Circle Secretary, West Bengal Circle, President, and later General Secretary, Circle Coordination Committee, WB. At the national level, he was elected Deputy General Secretary, AIPEU Gr. C, and subsequently General Secretary.
In 2022, at the 12th Federal Council of NFPE held at Mysore, he was elected Secretary General, NFPE. His tenure coincided with one of the most turbulent phases of the organisation, particularly after the derecognition of NFPE / AIPEU Gr. C. Even in adversity, he stood his ground and never left the battlefield, emerging as a symbol of unity and resolve among postal employees.
His consistent efforts towards organisational cohesion, including initiatives aimed at strengthening unity between the Postal and GDS wings, remain a significant contribution to the movement. When the chips were down, his leadership spoke louder than words.
A student of Physics, Com. Majumdar has a keen interest in Bengali and English literature, Political Science, and Social Sciences. He is a thoughtful writer in both Bengali and English. His wife is a State Government employee and active coordination committee worker; his daughter is a Dentist pursuing MDS.
Though retiring from service, his experience and commitment continue to remain assets to the organisation.
We extend our warm wishes for a healthy, peaceful, and meaningful retired life and are confident that he will continue to guide and support the organisation in the days ahead.
