EFFORTS TO ACHIEVE STRIKE DEMANDS.
General Secretary Com S.S. Mahadevaiah met Sri
Rahul Gandhi at 10,Janpath and sought his intervention to settle the justified
demands of G.D.S. along with Sachin Mega youth Congress leader, Chikkamangalur
to settle the demands.
General Secretary Com S.S Mahadevaih along
with Sachin Mega and others met Sri Mallikarjuna Karge, Labour Minister on
9-10-2012 at Srama Shakthi Bhavan. General Secretary requested the Minister for
his intervention to settle the GDS issues.
General Secretary Com S.S.Mahadevaiah met Sri
Veerappa Moily, Power and Corporate Affairs Minister at Srama Shakti Bhavan in
his chamber. He assured us that he try his best to settle the demands of GDS
through a dialogue with Hon’ble Communication and IT Minister Sri Kapil Sibal,
General Secretary Com,Mahadevaih met Sri Oscar
Fernandez, Hon’ble M.P and General Secretary Congress(I). He assured us to make
a dialogue with Sri Kapil Sibal to settle the GDS demands. He wrote a letter to
Sri Kapil Sibal on GDS problems.

Secretary Com, B.V.Rao, Delhi Circle Secretary Com, Ramvir, met Sri Sachin
Pilot, honourable State Minister for Communications and IT on 11-10-2012 at his
residence. He assured us to direct the D.G to arrange a meeting with union
representatives to settle the GDS demands.

Madam,
It is not irrelevant to mention here the discussion held with the
department of post on 16th January 2012 in connection with the JCA
call for indefinite strike from 17th January 2012. We were given
assurances to settle the justified demands of GDS. The Hon’ble state minister
for communications and IT also has given assurances in the meetings held at his
residence with leaders on 21st January 2012. The General Secretary
AIPEDEU explained elaborately the most pressing problems of GDS in the meeting.
The assurances of the Hon’ble state minister have not been put into practice
till date.
Hence we have no other alteration except
agitation to settle the genuine and justified demands of GDS.
We are humbly requesting your kind
intervention to settle the demands placed in the charter of demands to maintain
peace in the department of posts.
