No.GDS/CHQ/1/5/2014 Dated 17-04-2014
ToAll Circles / Divisional/ Branch Secretaries of All India Postal Gramin Dak Sevaks Union, All India Office Bearers….
Dear Comrades,
AIGDSU INITIATES STEPS TO BREAK THE 150YEARS GDS SLAVERY SYSTEM.
“Departmentalization”- it is the dream of each and every GDS employee. All the GDS fraternity have been eagerly awaiting to achieve this demand. Everybody knows that the dream of GDS will become true only through the struggles of AIGDSU. There is no other way except struggles. We have been taught to fight for the cause of workers in general and GDS in particular.
We vehimently felt that the most important demand “ Departmentalization” is very difficult task but not impossible. We should consolidate our strength. It is right and correct time to strengthen our union. We appeal all the GDS to come under one umbrella AIGDSU. It is known fact that nobody can fight except AIGDSU for the cause of GDS. It was proved by 2008, 2012 and 2014 indefinite strikes. These indefinite strikes during last four years have strengthened and widened the unity of GDS in the department of posts.
In the wake of the resounding success of the February 18-21 indefinite strike the department of posts sincerely started required steps for inclusion of GDS wage structure and service conditions in the purview of 7th CPC. The matter was under consideration of DOPT/ Finance and now we learnt that the matter was cleared by DOPT. The DOPT advised to the Department of Posts take up the issue with Finance Ministry now and file was under submission. Let us wait for the decision of demand positively.
We also appeal all the GDS not to fell in the trap of destructor who are now coming to GDS to break the unity. The Secretary General NFPE gave affidavit to the Jodhpur High Court Bench (Rajasthan) stating that GDS employees are not government employees in connection with GDS affiliation case against NFPE. They filed cases regarding departmentalization in the Supreme Court with the intention of diluting the GDS struggles. They know very well that the case will not be finalized in ten years. AIGDSU is by the GDS, of the GDS and for the GDS. Join massively in AIGDSU the only one recognized union in the department of posts in GDS cadre. If all 2.7 lakhs GDS are in our union, we will certainly achieve the demand “departmentalization” very easily. AIGDSU already initiate steps to break the 150 years of slavery system. Rally round AIGDSU. Victory knock our doors soon.
