Sub:-       Indefinite Hunger Fast from 21-03-2011 demanding the immediate cancellation of irregular Direct Recruitment of Postman in Assam Circle.

Sir,

A copy of Notice for Indefinite Hunger Fast from 21-03-2011 before office of the C.P.M.G Guwahati and Non Co-operation Movement in the grass root level, the above Communication received from Assam Circle regarding the long pending problems of GDS demanding immediate cancellation of irregular Direct Recruitment to the Postmen Cadre. In this regard we have already written letter to the Department about arbitrary move to snatch away 25% of Promotional avenues of GDS employees against the prevailing rules/convention/practice. It is also learnt that the examination held LAST YEAR on 23-05-2010 in Assam Circle was quite irregular, violating all rules and regulations of the department, a matter of concern.  GDS officials are treated as outsiders for all purposes and their promotion is treated as DIRECT RECRUITMENT.  Practice and pre-existing rules and norms for absorption of GDS in the department are logical and reasonable.  Hence we request your kind honor to intervene in the matter. The letter itself is self-explanatory and enclosed herewith for ready reference.

You are, therefore, requested kindly to intervene and direct concerned authorities to cancellation of irregular Direct Recruitment of Postman, pending discussion/decision, to maintain harmony at Assam Circle.

Since the agitation is already commenced w.e.f today itself, we earnestly request your kind self to do the needful in the matter at the earliest for which we are highly thankful.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,
