Indefinite Strike from 16th October, 2012
Dear Comrades,
AIPEDEU
has given a call for INDEFINITE STRIKE from 16th Oct, 2012. Frustrated GDS
employees have been agitating over the issue when the assurances are not
honored. Time and again the bureaucracy is playing its disruptive game with the
unions and making us humble. No consultation with staff side, periodical
meetings are not held periodically, committees are constituted to dodge the
issues and to dilute the very purpose and so on and so forth. There is no alternative than to
wage a decisive struggle against the injustice. Our efforts to get justice do
not appear to have yielded much fruits. Hence an indefinite strike has become
unavoidable. We are compelled to resort to indefinite strike from 16.10.2012.
Comrades, this
is time that serious preparations are made to make the strike a total success.
Some guidelines which are only illustrative and not exhaustive are laid down
here under. More programmes and activities may be devised locally:
1. The strike will begin at 6.00 AM on
16.10.2012. It has to be ensured that everybody resorts to strike form that
day. B.O bags should not be exchanged and B.O. daily accounts should not be
submitted.
2. We are seriously opposed to any sort of
violence or sabotage. But certain agents of disruption would be active to
implicate the striking members. We should be vigilant against such forces.
3. There
may be rumors of several kinds. We should not be swayed away by rumors. In case

4. Following
steps for extensive and intensive preparations should be taken:
(i) Extensive
tour of the circle by circle union representatives and of the Division by
Divisional union representatives should be undertaken and members educated
about the issues. As regards the issues pertaining to the members of this union,
much matter has been provided in several issues of the union journal- Rural
Postal employees and other bulletins/notes.
(ii) Posters/handbills in local language should
be brought out highlighting the demands.
(iii) We should plan rallies/ meetings along with
other unions.
(iv) In the meantime following programmes may be
organised at all Divisional Head Quarters.
- Send memorandum to the finance minister,
Communication minister and Secretary Posts and local MPs by speed Post on
5-10-2012. The memorandum format copies are sent along with this circular.
- Conduct Rally at Divisional Head Quarters and
important places from 10-10-2012 onwards and ORGANISE PADAYATRA THROUGH
OUT THE COUNTRY TO EXPRESS OUR UTTER DISSATISFACTION AND FRUSTRATION OVER
THE ILL TREATMENT/STEP-MOTHERLY ATTITUDE should be held
where prominent persons should be invited.

During
strike: mass
mobilization as per local convenience.
1.
All other arrangements as necessary may be made.
2.
No heed should be paid to any rumours that may be
spread by misleading agencies or agent's provocateurs. Any information required
can be had direct form us.
Comrades,
A challenge has been
thrown on us and we have to accept it. We have appealed to NFPE/FNPO/BPF and
affiliated unions for direct support and participation. We are assured of total
support by several Circles. You may kindly approach local group 'C' &'D'
leadership for supports and participation.
